為此，Doctor Who劇組透漏NuWho S11起將會啟用更多女性編劇。
2017年7月16日，Doctor Who劇組宣布了全新一任女性博士，
打破了劇中長達54年由男性扮演主角的傳統。
2017年7月20日，Doctor Who劇組回應BBC對於男性薪水高過女性的問題，
保證新任女性博士演員(Jodie Whittaker)會與前任博士同酬。
